Computer Needs

ootpik! needs to use an Apple iMac, Mac Mini or other Mac computer for use as the Server computer. We do this to insure stability, security and a more reliable device for your business.
The server not only delivers ootpik! to your client computers but is also a full web server for you to broadcast over the internet and within your store. The web server allows your employees to connect using any tablet or smart phone with a web browser. And your customers can connect, see your items on sale, locate an item, see your hours and look up past purchases at the store.
Because of the importance of the Server software, ootpik! uses a Mac. You can also run a client on the server computer at the same time if you like.
The minimum MacOS needed is 10.14.6 and 8GB of Ram. If you wish to use the client on the server than add another 4GB Ram.
The client computers can be either Windows or Mac based (highly recommend a Mac). They should have a minimum 4GB Ram. Windows version 10 or greater is needed for ootpik.
The touch screens we use are ELO Touch. These have proven very reliable and last for years.
We can provide you with the computers and/or touch screens with all the ootpik! software installed and the computer set up for use in a business environment.
